  • Collaborated with external authors by reviewing plot, characters, romance options, wardrobe, and satisfying choices to elevate pitches to viable, marketable stories.
  • Approved milestones for external authors from initial pitches to final content edits.
  • Content-edited all chapters for each author before release.
  • Championed an inclusive narrative, removing gender-specific elements, avoiding hetero-normative stereotypes, and utilizing multiple pronouns.

Lead Narrative Designer for StoryKeepers (hidden object puzzle, 2018-2019)

  • Collaborated with the Narrative Designer from 4Friends Games, designing various characters, locations, and items for the StoryKeepers world.
  • Tailored their episodic story into a digestible mobile gaming experience.
  • Content-edited all text for the game, including: dialogue, lore, tutorials, descriptions, and narration
  • Provided narrative direction through mobile content updates.

Lead Narrative Designer for Lifeline: Whiteout 1-3 (interactive fiction, 2016-2017)

  • Reviewed concept proposals, game design documents, and shaped the narrative direction for external developer Eipix Games.
  • Created content, including alternate choice paths, endings, character backstory, and additional dialogue.
  • Performed major content edits and final copy editing in Twine.

Narrative Designer for Premium PC/MAC Titles (hidden object, 2014-2016)

  • Approved initial game pitches and game design documents, integrating story into gameplay to appeal to the target audience.
  • Provided design direction for developers throughout development to construct stronger narratives and worldbuilding.
  • Wrote and edited in-game text and dialogue for early survey builds and at the final release stage.
  • Wrote game marketing copy for web portals and customer emails.
  • Coordinated the external freelance editing program, including training, hiring, handoffs, and created style guides and process documentation.

Responsible for editing all game text, including mini-games, tutorials, and voice-over dialogue for third-party titles and producing marketing copy for web portals and customer emails.

  • Collaborated with the Art, Engineering, Marketing, Localization, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure the highest-quality text for the games.
  • Taught partner developers from many countries how to create engaging stories and characters that appeal to their target demographic, capturing audience attention within the first hour of gameplay to ensure purchase beyond the demo trial.
  • Approved initial game pitches and game design documents, integrating story into gameplay to appeal to the target audience.
  • Provided design direction for developers throughout development to construct stronger narratives and worldbuilding.
  • Wrote and edited in-game text and dialogue for early survey builds and at the final release stage.

  • Provided in-depth feedback on four in-houses titles by content-editing while running text passes and recommending new features to make them market-ready for players.
  • Assisted the Narrative Designer with text editing on an ad-hoc basis which led to joining the Narrative Design team.

What started as a volunteer workforce has grown into its own living and breathing community, focused on helping the game community at large. Not only do they ensure a well-run PAX, but they also assist with our charity, Child’s Play, as well as a variety of community and Enforcer-run activities throughout the year.
